Marilyn Averill MC/MPA 2000, chair

Marilyn Averill is pursuing a doctorate in environmental studies at the University of Colorado at Boulder, where she is affiliated with the Center for Science and Technology Policy Research. Before returning to school, Marilyn served as an attorney in the Office of the Solicitor, US Department of the Interior. Her current interests focus on the role of courts in shaping policy, international environmental governance, the ethical implications of environmental issues, and the politics of science, primarily within the context of global climate change.

Marilyn has earned a BA from Wellesley College, an MA and a JD from the University of Colorado, and an MPA from HKS. She has served on the Alumni Board since 2008, and was elected Board Chair in 2010.
