Jorge Jaramillo HKSEE 2010, 2012 has lived and worked on three continents. He works at the intersection between business, public policy and economic development. Jorge serves in the California Governor’s Office of Business and Economic Development as deputy director, a position he was appointed to by Governor Jerry Brown. Jaramillo is recognized for his skills in strategic planning for companies navigating US and international markets, including establishing partnerships, overseeing complex negotiations, and performing government relations and external affairs with local, state, and federal agencies. Jaramillo was appointed by the United States Secretary of Commerce to the District Export Council, which enhances national economic security and trade between the United States and foreign markets. Jaramillo has served in management roles in Silicon Valley, as president of a Chamber of Commerce, and as trade adviser to members of the diplomatic corps. Jaramillo is also passionate about mentoring young people on career pathways, minority leadership, and civic engagement.
