Alison Loat is co-founder and executive director of Samara, a charitable organization that studies citizens’ engagement with the Canadian democracy. She also teaches at the University of Toronto’s School of Public Policy.
Previously, Loat worked at McKinsey and Company and for the Canadian government. She founded Canada25, a public policy organization, and was chosen as a “Top 25 under 30” by Canada’s national newsmagazine and received the Queen’s Jubilee Gold Medal.
At HKS she co-edited The Citizen and received the Ellen Raphael Award for overall contribution by a graduating student.
