Why can’t I access Alumni.Harvard or the HKS Alumni Directory page?
If you are trying to gain access from a computer in a very secure network (such as a bank, investment firm, or other organization with high security) or a very unsecured network (such as a coffee shop), you will be denied access. Try again from a different computer such as your home computer.
I’m using my home computer and still can’t get access. What’s wrong?
You may have a FERPA block on your record in the University database which is preventing you from gaining access.
What is a FERPA block and how can I remove it?
A FERPA block is a flag in the alumni database to protect access to your record and restrict the conditions under which information may be released. It alerts University staff that you have requested your contact information not be disclosed. Until the block is removed, you will not be able to access secure areas of the website. The block can be removed by contacting the Registrar’s Office and submitting a Release Request Form. It is not our practice to disclose any contact information.

How can I search for a classmate or find other HKS alumni in my area?
You can search by name, degree, or class year. If you don’t have that information, you can search with criteria such as city, country, or place of employment. Keep in mind that each person enters data differently (i.e., Department of Homeland Security may also be entered as DHS), so you may need to try different combinations.
Why aren't email addresses visible in the HKS alumni directory?
Email addresses are hidden to prevent spam and protect your privacy.

Note: The HKS special borrower’s card is for the Kennedy School library only. For access to other Harvard College Libraries, see information below.
Do I have access to the Harvard College Libraries?
The HCL Library Privileges Office at Widener Library grants various library cards to alumni, depending on the nature of the visit: temporary pass, stacks access, limited borrowing and regular borrowing. Fees apply for a Special Borrower card. For more information on alumni library privileges, please consult the Widener Library web site or visit the Library Privileges Office on the first floor of Widener Library.
Note: Alumni may only access electronic resources such as LexisNexis and Academic Search Premier from the public computers in the Harvard College libraries if they have an HCL Special Borrowers Card. Harvard’s contracts with vendors restrict remote access to these resources.
