Albert L (Nick) Nichols, Adjunct Lecturer in Public Policy, teaches courses in economics and business and government policy. He holds an MPP and a Ph.D in Public Policy from Harvard. From 1979-88 he was an Assistant and then Associate Professor at the Kennedy School, where he taught courses in economics, analytic methods, and energy and environmental policy. While on leave from the University, he was the Director of the Economic Analysis Division of the Office of Policy, Planning and Evaluation at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency from 1983-85. From 1989-2009, he held senior positions at two economic consulting firms, focusing on economic testimony and other submissions to courts and regulatory agenices concerning issues in environment, energy, and antitrust. He is currently a Special Consultant to one of those firms.

Dr. Nichols is the author of Targeting Economic Incentives for Environmental Protection (MIT Press). He is also the author of numerous articles in books and professional journals, including The American Economic Review, Antitrust Bulletin, Bell Journal of Economics, Energy Policy, George Mason Law Review, Harvard Environmental Law Review, Management Science, Public Interest, Regulation, Resources and Energy Economics, and Review of Industrial Organization.
