John N. Friedman is Assistant Professor of Public Policy. He is interested in the economics and political economy of public policy. His research has focused on healthcare and tax policy, as well as the drivers and implications of redistricting. Before joining the Kennedy School, he was a Robert Wood Johnson Scholar of Health Policy at the University of California at Berkeley. He is a Faculty Research Fellow at the National Bureau of Economic Research. Friedman holds a PhD in Economics, an AM in Statistics, and a BA in Economics, all from Harvard University.
