Lisa Robinson

Profile

Lisa A. Robinson is a Senior Fellow at the Mossavar-Rahmani Center for Business and Government and an Affiliate Fellow of its Regulatory Policy Program. She is also affiliated with the Center for Health Decision Science and the Center for Risk Analysis at the Harvard School of Public Health. Her primary interest is in improving the use and usefulness of methods for policy analysis, particularly benefit-cost analysis. She spent much of her career assessing the impacts of environmental, health, and safety regulations and drafting related guidance for a variety of federal agencies and other organizations. Recently, she has worked on approaches for estimating the value of mortality and morbidity risk reductions, explored the implications of behavioral economics, and investigated options for enhancing the assessment of employment impacts and distributional effects.

Ms. Robinson was previously a Principal at Industrial Economics, Incorporated, the Director of Policy, Planning, and Budget at the federal Institute of Museum Services, and an analyst at the U.S. Office of Management and Budget. She is currently the President of the Society for Benefit-Cost Analysis, and received her Master in Public Policy degree from the Kennedy School.

This spring, Ms. Robinson will be teaching a new module in benefit-cost analysis (API-139M) and leading a Mossavar-Rahmani Center for Business and Government study group, “Benefit-Cost Analysis in the Real World – Tales from the Trenches.”
