Michael Wheeler is visiting from Harvard Business School where he has taught introductory and advanced negotiation courses since 1993. Prior to that, he taught at MIT’s Department of Urban Studies & Planning. His research focuses on negotiation dynamics, dispute resolution, organizational design, and ethics. Wheeler is the author or co-author of ten books, the most recent of which is The Art of Negotiation: How to improvise agreement in a chaotic world. Over the years he has played various leadership roles at the Program on Negotiation, an inter-university consortium based at Harvard Law School. He currently is editor-in-chief of its Negotiation Journal and co-heads its Negotiation Pedagogy Initiative. He is also co-chair of the board of the not-for-profit Consensus Building Institute which provides consulting and mediation services to resolve public policy controversies. Wheeler holds degrees from Amherst College, Boston University, and Harvard Law School.
