Profile

Muriel Rouyer, Adjunct Professor of Public Policy, has been a Professor of Political Science in France since 2004, at the University of Nice (2004) and Nantes (since 2005). She taught in various international contexts (The University of Chicago and G. Washington University in Paris, Master degree and International Program at Sciences-Po Paris, The University of Belarus in exile in Vilnius, University Gaston Berger in Senegal). Her fields of expertise are the European Union, theories of democracy and the rule of law, French, European and American Feminism. Author of many articles on these topics, and of a forthcoming book on Cosmopolitan Democracy in the European Union at the Presses de Sciences-Po, she has been working on a new project on the European culture of rights in 2009-2010 at the Center for European Studies at Harvard. Former practitioner of gender issues at the National Agency on Gender Parity in France and at the European Parliament, involved in NGOs against Balkanic wars in the 1990s, she is deeply committed to Europe and eager to share her knowledge, passion and cosmopolitan ethics with the students of the HKS.
