Steven Hoffman is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Epidemiology & Biostatistics at McMaster University, an Adjunct Faculty member of the McMaster Health Forum, and a Research Fellow with the Global Health Diplomacy Program at the University of Toronto’s Munk School of Global Affairs. He is currently a Visiting Assistant Professor of Global Health & Population at the Harvard School of Public Health and a Visiting Scholar at the Harvard Global Health Institute. A lawyer by training, Steven previously worked at an elite cross-border law firm specializing in intellectual property litigation, health product regulation and government relations. He also previously worked for the World Health Organization, Alliance for Health Policy & Systems Research, and Ontario Ministry of Health & Long-Term Care. He convenes an academic advisory committee on science reporting for Canada’s only national weekly current affairs magazine and serves as Fellow in the Executive Office of UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon. His research integrates analytical and empirical methods to study global health decision-making and evaluate international strategies for addressing global health threats, inequalities and human rights.
