Volunteers are alumni who reach out to their peers to encourage and acknowledge gifts to the HKS Fund. Their commitment helps foster alumni citizenship, engagement, and alumni participation in supporting the School. The consistent annual support generated by volunteers is essential for advancing the Kennedy School’s endeavors through faculty and student support, internships, critical financial aid, and other initiatives.
Convening every five years, these committees work to achieve high levels of participation and leadership contributions within each Reunion class. Serving on these committees gives volunteers an opportunity to interact with classmates and make a meaningful difference at the School.
Formed in 2014, the HKS Fund Task Force fosters HKS engagement and cultivates a culture of giving to the Kennedy School.
This group focuses on developing:
HKS Fund Class Agents play an important role in educating fellow non-Reunion alumni about the pivotal role annual gifts play in helping HKS make a difference for the public good. The primary goals of the Class Agent program are to engage alumni with HKS and one another and to encourage consistent annual giving during non-Reunion years.
The HKS Fund team cannot overstate how important and influential our volunteers are in their peer-to-peer solicitations. These connections afford the opportunity to share personal stories and reasons for supporting HKS. Alumni responses to these peer-to-peer solicitations are far more compelling than staff outreach.
A great way to connect with classmates is by hosting a regional event during a Reunion year or in non-Reunion years. The main goal of a regional event is to bring classmates together and maintain a strong connection with each other and HKS. The HKS Fund team will provide support in the planning of these events.
The HKS Graduating Class Gift Campaign supports the HKS Fund, which helps with School priorities such as increasing student financial aid. The Graduating Class Gift also inspires fellow students and alumni to support HKS and the next generation of students by instilling a culture of philanthropy.
