CHAIR
 
Shannan Williams { shannan_williams@ksg09.harvard.edu }
Shannan Williams is currently a second year Master’s in Public Policy student. Prior to attending Harvard, Shannan interned twice with Maryland’s state government most recently serving as a Research Assistant for MD’s Department of Business and Economic Development.

She has also worked the Meyerhoff Scholarship Program, an organization at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC) that works to increase the attainment of doctoral degrees in the science, engineering, and mathematics fields among underrepresented minorities. Last summer, she worked for Mayor Richard M. Daley as a Mayoral Fellow for the City of Chicago.

A recent graduate of UMBC, Shannan holds a degree in Political Science with minors in Africana Studies and Writing.

Marsha Bannister { marsha_bannister@ksg09.harvard.edu }
Marsha Bannister is a second year MPP student. She graduated in Dec 2006 from Georgetown University with a degree in Sociology English and African American Studies. There she was the Education and Youth Chair of the NAACP, Black House Resident Director, founder of GU Sisters for Christ, and President of the Gospel Choir.

Past experience includes working with Simpson, Thacher and Bartlett, Human Rights First, SEEDCO, Prep for Prep and Program Coordinator for Georgetown’s Campus Ministry. Most recently, she worked with NYC’s Administration for Children’s Service in Quality Assurance. In addition, Marsha is currently assisting her church, Grace Church of God with operational management.

ASSOCIATE CHAIR
 
Rasheba Johnson { Rasheba_johnson@ksg10.harvard.edu }
Rasheba Johnson is a first-year Master in Public Policy (MPP) student.  Originally from Dallas, Texas, she received her B.A. in both Economics and African-American Studies from Smith College in Northampton, Massachusetts.  While at Smith, Rasheba co-founded the Black Educators of Tomorrow, a mentoring organization that links Smith College students with underserved youth. She also served as a member of the AmeriCorps program with an elementary school in Newark, New Jersey.

Upon graduation, Rasheba worked with the Partnership for After School Education and the Intrepid Sea Air & Space Museum's Education Department in NYC.  Prior to attending the Kennedy School, she worked for three years in local government as a Program Manager with the NYC Department of Youth & Community Development’s Out-of-School Time  initiative, administering funding and technical expertise to non-profit &  community-based organizations that provide youth services.

ASSOCIATE VICE CHAIR
 
Naima Green { Naima_green@ksg10.harvard.edu }
Naima Green is a first year Master in Public Policy candidate, and a fellow at the Belfer Center of Science and International Affairs. She is also a Pickering Fellow with the US Department of State, meaning that after completing her Master's degree, she will become a Foreign Service Officer. Naima is interested in cultural diplomacy and international exchange.

She grew up in Cairo, Egypt, and hopes to spend much of her foreign service career working in Africa and with international organizations such as the AU and the UN. She received her BA in International Relations from Stanford University.
