Harvard-MIT Working Group

G. Tueni fellow Rima Merhi represented the Carr Center in a working group consisting of members from Middle East Initiative (Harvard Kennedy School), The Center for Middle Eastern Studies (Faculty of Arts and Sciences), Hauser Institute for Non-Profit Organizations (HKS), Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs (HKS), University Committee on Human Rights Studies, Human Rights Program (Harvard Law School); MIT Center for International studies and Human Rights and Justice program, MIT Department of Brain and Cognitive Sciences.

Three events were organized:

  • April 15, 2010, Voices from Gaza Video conference

Eyad al Sarraj, President, Gaza Community Mental Health Programme Rawya Hamam, Psychiatric Nurse in Gaza Omar Shaban, Economist and Director, PAL-Think, a Gaza-Based Palestinian Think Tank Moderated by Sara Roy, Senior Research Scholar, Harvard Center for Middle Eastern Studies

  • April 21, 2010, America’s response

Augustus Richard Norton, Professor of Anthropology and International Relations, Boston University Robert Blecher, Historian and Analyst, International Crisis Group Uri Zaki, USA Director, B'Tselem, the Israeli Information Center for Human Rights in the Occupied Territories.

With a focus on U.S. policy and the Goldstone Report
