Bishop Christopher Senyonjo served as a bishop in the Anglican Church of Uganda from 1974-1998. Widely hailed as the "Desmond Tutu of Uganda," Bishop Senyonjo is one of the most outspoken and courageous voices on behalf of LGBTQ human rights globally. He is the founder of St. Paul's Reconciliation and Equality Centre for LGBTQ/Straight Alliance in Kampala, Uganda. Currently on a speaking tour of the United Kingdom and United States, Bishop Senyonjo will lead a two-day United Nations convening of faith leaders, LGBTQ activists, and human rights advocates at the Union Theological Seminary on Oct. 11-12, 2011.
