Panels & Conferences
In addition to individual lectures and speeches, the Human Rights and Social
Movements Program will sponsor regular panels and conferences during the academic year.
Each spring, in collaboration with the Harvard Kennedy School LGBT Caucus, the Human Rights
and Social Movements Program will host a one-day conference on “Politics,
Policy & Progress: Gay Rights as Human Rights,” bringing together
leading scholars, activists, artists, and policymakers to address major topics related to
the human rights of gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender people. This annual
conference will feature the Nicholas Papadopoulos Lecture and an evening event in the
John F. Kennedy Forum.
the Third Annual “Gay Right as Human Rights” Conference
taking place April 15 and 16.
