The Gender and Security Seminar Series is a survey of six topics focused on the
relationship between conflict, peace and gender. The seminar series will examine how
integrating a gender perspective within the security sector redefines security to include
human security, and addresses issues of statebuilding that are often overlooked and
understudied, such as inclusion, and improving state-responsiveness. Topics include women
and peace negotiations, gender and national security policymaking, masculinities, violence,
and peace, and UN 1325 and operational effectiveness.
Sahana Dharmapuri, Carr Center Fellow, is leading the series.
