About the Initiative:
The Initiative in Theater and Human Rights is an exciting new area of focus, here at the Carr
Center. Beginning in the
spring of 2012, the initiative will be led by the Carr Center's newest visiting fellow, Guila Kessous, PhD,
a noted French artist and scholar, who
studied with Elie Wiesel at Boston University where she received her doctorate in Aesthetics and Ethics.
During the course of the semester, Ms. Kessous will both lead a study group, The Study Group on the Theater
and Human Rights, as well as prepare a theatrical production, a modern version of the Dreyfus
Affair, which will
be performed at Harvard at the end of the spring term.
Preliminary information regarding the study group is avilable on-line now, click the "Study Group" item in
the left-hand menu of this page. More information about both the initiative and details of the
production schedule will be posted as soon as they are available.
