Part of the “Innovative Strategies in the Fight Against
Modern-Day Slavery” Discussion Series.

Human trafficking is the second-largest and fastest-growing criminal industry in the world today. The purpose of the series is to introduce participants to the realities and operations of modern-day slavery and have rigorous discussions on innovative strategies to combat segments of the global problem. No advance preparation necessary, but active engagement in discussion is expected. The 10-week series is primarily for graduate students across multiple fields (human rights, criminal justice, economics and finance, public service, business, law, medicine, public health, and others). Katherine Chon is the President and Co-founder of Polaris Project, a Washington, DC-based nonprofit organization combating modern-day slavery. Katherine is currently on sabbatical, enrolled in the Harvard Kennedy School's Mid-Career MPA program with a fellowship from the Ash Institute for Democratic Governance and Innovation. |
