Haiti, student Naveed Malik interned with the Child Protection
Program.
The goal of the internship was to present a roadmap for increasing efficacy in UNICEF
programming and interventions for children affected by armed violence. Naveed conducted
desk research on the global issues of children and organized armed violence (COAV) and
children and armed conflict (CAAC), held discussions with NGOs operating in Haiti, and
compared the Haiti office’s programming to UNICEF’s broader framework and to international
standards and norms.
