The Measurement and Human Rights Program invited applications for a full-time Internship programme for Summer 2008. The purpose of the internship program was to expose and contribute young students and scholars to development work benefiting children and women working for UNICEF Country Offices.

The internship offered an opportunity for analysis, research and documentation of field level interventions for children across a variety of areas: child protection, health, nutrition, education, HIV/AIDS, and water and sanitation. The assignment involved a combination of research and field work.  Small research teams involving students from local universities and research institutes werecreated, to strengthen the multi- disciplinary academic skills and multi-cultural backgrounds of the Programme.
