David Hoffman, is the Founder/President Emeritus of Internews, a global non-profit that fosters independent media and access to information worldwide. In his new book, Citizens Rising: Independent Media and the Spread of Democracy, Hoffman explores the independent journalists and activists on the frontlines of social change. From the Arab Spring to Afghanistan, the media takes center stage in the first book to recount the story of media activists who are transforming the contemporary media landscape.
