Exploring the Relationship between the Human Rights to Water and Sanitation and the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs)
This study group will examine how the emerging human rights to water and sanitation relate to the Millennium Development Goal (MDG) relating to drinking-water and sanitation (MDG 7, Target 7c), which is to: "Halve, by 2015, the proportion of people without sustainable access to safe drinking-water and basic sanitation.” We will also discuss how MDG Target 7c is currently being monitored, the state of progress towards achieving Target 7c, and post-2015 efforts.
