Cross-Cultural Leadership in a Changing City:
Supervisor David Campos and
the politics of change in San Francisco

Presenter:

David Campos

Supervisor, San Francisco Board of Supervisors (City Council)

Overview:

Join us for a conversation with Supervisor David Campos of San Francisco on Friday, April 5th at the Carr Center for Human Rights Policy moderated by Prof. Tim McCarthy. Campos will be discussing his path from undocumented immigrant to Harvard Law School graduate to his election to the San Francisco Board of Supervisors (City Council). Before being elected to the Board, Campos served as Deputy City Attorney where he successfully litigated the SF Unified School District Desegregation Consent Decree among other cases. Currently he is one of the most progressive members of an already progressive Board of Supervisors championing human rights causes such as holding former San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom accountable for deporting immigrant youth from the city. Mr. Campos is also openly gay.
