Harvard Symposium on Argentina

¿Dónde y cuándo ocurrió el milagro?

Three governors, several members of congress, legislators, mayors and officials, all together, despite belonging to different political parties, debating and arriving at conclusions for the future. Where and when was the miracle? From April 15 to 17, 2010, the Harvard Symposium at Argentina, titled "Imagining the Future of Argentina," took place at the Harvard Kennedy School of Government. Argentina's RAP Foundation (Political Action Network) co-sponsored the event with the Center for International Development at Harvard University and the David Rockefeller Center for Latin American Studies.

RAP President Alan Clutterbuck and RAP Executive Director Paula Montoya welcomed participants to the event. Ricardo Hausmann, Director of the Center for International Development and Professor of the Practice of Economic Development (Harvard Kennedy School), and Rafael Di Tella, Joseph Wilson Professor of Business Administration (Harvard Business School), moderated the event. Keynote speakers were Roberto Mangabeira Unger, Brazilian statesman, contemporary social theorist, and Roscoe Pound Professor of Law at Harvard Law School, introduced by Ricardo Hausmann, and Jorge Domínguez, Harvard's Vice Provost for International Affairs and Antonio Madero Professor of Mexican and Latin American Politics and Economics in the Department of Government, introduced by Gustavo Herrero, Executive Director of the HBS Latin America Research Center.

Faculty speakers included: Tarun Khanna, Ricardo Hausmann, David King, Matthew Baum, Rafael Di Tella, Lant Pritchett, Steven Levitsky, William Hogan, Edward Glaeser, and Richard Freeman.
