Reynolds philanthropic affiliations include as Trustee of New York University, Vanderbilt University, the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, the National Gallery of Art, Dance Theater of Harlem, D.C. College Access Program, National Geographic International Advisory Council, Inova Fairfax Hospital, and the American Academy of Achievement. She also funds the MIT YouPitch Entrepreneurship Competition.
Reynolds was selected by Business Week as one of the 50 most philanthropic living Americans, and was the first woman to make their list. She has received honorary degrees from Georgetown University, Morehouse College and Willamette University, as well as New York University’s Gold Medal. She is also the recipient of the Woodrow Wilson Award for Corporate Citizenship and the National Italian-American Foundation's Achievement Award in Education and Cultural Affairs.
