John McDonough, Interim Superintendent, Boston Public Schools

The Boston Public Schools face a series of challenges. Some, like the achievement gap, are common to many urban system. Others, like assignment system reform, are unique to Boston. Also, Boston is facing a transition in mayors for the first time since 1993. With this context, the current Interim Superintendent must plan for the future. His presentation will present the BPS' plans to address these challenges.

John McDonough is the Interim Superintendent of the Boston Public Schools, who took over from Carol Johnson. Previously, he was the Chief Financial Officer at BPS. He was educated at Boston College.
