The Institute encourages graduate and professional students to spend at least part of their professional careers in state or local government in Greater Boston. The primary means for doing so is the Rappaport Summer Public Policy Fellows Program, which provides 14 graduate students from local universities with paid 10-week public-sector internships in Greater Boston with a $7,000 stipend. Institute staff can help students working on Boston-related research projects, such as Harvard Kennedy School Policy Analysis Exercises (PAEs), identify useful resources and materials. The Institute also works with student groups to develop and host other public events on policy-related issues in the Greater Boston region.
