MPA/ID candidate Lucila Arboleya

Selihan Yilar

Living through Turkey’s fiscal transformation and its contribution to growth in the last decade has been a stunning experience for me. I witnessed how effective policies can touch the lives of millions. However, ensuring the sustainability of such growth and making it equitable is the more formidable challenge facing us today.

This is what brought me to the MPA/ID Program. Providing a rigorous theoretical background while staying grounded to real-life cases and experience make this program unique. Every day of this program has been designed delicately. All core courses, cases and workshops, real-life examples from classmates, speakers we have every week interlock like pieces of a puzzle.

I know the puzzle will not be completed when I graduate, as I need to complete it when I return to work. I also know that the critical approach, technical background and broad vision I have developed to understand the underlying dynamics of development and formulate solutions will help me to effectively complete the puzzle.

Before enrolling in the MPA/ID Program, Selihan served as a Planning Specialist in her native Turkey’s Ministry of Development. She graduated with High Honors from Bilkent University in Ankara, Turkey, with a B.S. in Management.
