Gain Experience and Improve Your Network

Many Harvard Kennedy School students gain valuable experience, develop new skills, learn about fields of interest, and begin valuable new professional relationships by pursuing meaningful public service internships in the summer between their first and second year. Students have held internships on six continents in fields ranging from elections and campaigns to microfinance to broadcast journalism.

The Office of Career Advancement (OCA) assists students seeking internships with:

  • individual counseling, orientation sessions and networking events,
  • a database of summer internships completed by students,
  • numerous internship job postings in JACK,
  • lists of internship opportunities and resources, including a list of Harvard Kennedy School internship programs and sources of summer funding.
