PAE Client Proposal Guidelines

Leverage Student Skill & Knowledge, Define Problems, Find Solutions

If you are interested in participating as a PAE client, we invite you to submit a project proposal.

Please send your proposal to pae@hks.harvard.edu, preferably by the first week of September. Please include the following information:

  • Your name, title, organization, and contact information, including mailing address, phone number, and email
  • Description of the goals and functions of your organization
  • Potential title for your project
  • Description of the issue you would like the student(s) to analyze
    • Two to three paragraphs would be a suitable length. If you wish to submit more than one project, please list them separately.
  • Brief explanation of how you expect to use the final product.
  • Any additional comments.

If you do not have a specific project in mind but would be open to project ideas from our students, you can simply send a description of your organization and a statement of interest. At the beginning of the academic year, we basically need to know whether your organization would like to work with a student this year, what topics you might have to offer, and whom students should contact to discuss potential projects.

Due to the number of PAE proposals we receive, students have a wide range of possibilities to choose from. We cannot promise that your proposal will be selected. Nevertheless, we very much appreciate your willingness to offer our students real-world experiences in public service, and we hope that you will be among the very satisfied clients we have served through this worthwhile program.
