HKS students working

Make a Difference

Harvard Kennedy School students and graduates are changing the world in the public, private and nonprofit sectors with their leadership skills and through their commitment to public service. As a member of this global, diverse community, you pursue myriad employment opportunities reflecting both your rich differences and your common passion to build a better, healthier, safer, and more just world.

Finding the right opportunity for you will take time and effort. Spread a wide net. You never know what might look much more interesting upon closer inspection. OCA looks forward to partnering with you on your journey, but encourages you to realize that your best advocate is you. Prepare yourself well, with the support of OCA and the HKS community, to be ready to make your best case when the perfect opportunity is in front of you.

In order to help you in your search, OCA provides connections to employers with positions to offer as well as to organizations growing to meet public challenges. We bring employers to campus through our On-Campus Recruiting Program. Many of these employers are interested in hiring first-year students for summer internships, which provide students with a perfect opportunity to explore employers and career opportunities as well as to develop skills gained in their first-year curriculum. In partnership with the MPP Program Office, we maintain a database of term-time projects with organizations interested in working with our second-year MPP students on their Policy Analysis Exercise (PAE).

Jobs and internships are posted daily in JACK: Jobs and Careers for the Kennedy School, our job bank and career management system. We encourage you to visit JACK, use the document section to keep your resume and other written job search materials organized and create targeted search agents that will generate email notices that will alert you of jobs of interest to you.
