Career Advancement Program

Through the Career Advancement Program (CAP), we will help you to identify your career goals, explore areas of interest, conduct an internship & PAE search, and support your full-time job search. We encourage you to take advantage of this program and its activities and of the additional resources available through OCA as you continue on your career journey.

There are many components to CAP. During Orientation, you will receive an “HKS Career Guide” binder that will guide you through the CAP curriculum. You can choose which CAP sessions best meet your needs. Components of CAP include:

  • Resources to help you on your personal career discovery
  • A series of skill-building sessions to help you in your job search
  • Career Gateway sessions to explore the industries of wide interest in the HKS community. Gateway topics will cover:
    • Finance
    • International Development
    • International Security Policy
    • Energy and the Environment
    • Community and Economic Development
    • Social Sector
    • U.S. Federal Government
    • Government Relations and Media
