Consultations

The Communications Program Writing Tutors offer one-on-one consultations during scheduled office hours in BG-2 and by appointment. We encourage HKS students to take advantage of these free private sessions.

Here are some guidelines:

  • To make an appointment during office hours, click here  to sign up. The password is "write." Click on "Edit this page" to add your name to an available time slot.
  • To schedule an appointment outside of office hours, call or email the Tutor directly.
  • If you must cancel an appointment, notify the Tutor by phone or email and erase your name from the sign-up sheet.
  • Last-minute appointments are often not possible, although the Tutors try to be flexible. Try to make an appointment well before an assignment is due.
  • Writing Tutors are not copy editors. They will work with you to improve style, structure, argumentation, citations, use of data, and grammar.
  • The Tutors are willing to help international students with English grammar on a limited basis, but they are not ESL instructors.
