Cost

Transcripts cost $2 per copy. The transcript fee must be paid by cash, money order or check. Please make check payable to Harvard University. Transcripts cannot be billed to your term bill or a credit card.

Rush orders
For $5.00 a student can pick up the transcript on the next business day. Transcripts continue to cost $2.00 per copy. For example, one copy of a transcript rushed will cost $7.00. (Two copies will cost $4 plus the additional $5 rush fee.) At certain times of year rush orders may not be possible to due to a heavy volume of requests.

FedEx
Transcripts can also be sent via FedEx upon request. The fee for this service is $10/per location for domestic orders and $15 for international locations (this is in addition to any transcript and/or rush fees).

Requests may be mailed to:

    Kennedy School of Government
    Office of the Registrar
    79 John F. Kennedy Street
    Cambridge, MA 02138

Processing time may vary depending on the time of year and volume of requests. Please allow 3-5 days to process your request. Transcripts not picked up within one year of request will be shredded.

All transcripts issued by our office are official. They contain the Harvard seal and are printed on watermarked security paper. The back of the envelope is sealed with the Registrar's signature.

If you are a current student, you can stop by the Office of the Registrar and fill out a Transcript Request Form or print the form and bring it into our office.

Why we must have your signature?

Under provisions of the Family Education Rights and Privacy Act of 1974, we can not honor a transcript request for a student's academic record from any other individual (including parents), government agency, corporation, etc. without a signed release from the student authorizing the release to a specific person, corporation or agency. For this reason, we cannot accept requests for transcripts over the telephone, fax, or electronic mail, or by a third party.
