In order to be fully considered for any financial assistance, including all merit fellowships, applicants are strongly encouraged to complete a financial assistance application by the stated deadlines, as funds are limited. The John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University (HKS) recommends applicants to print this page as they begin the financial assistance application process in order to help them through the required steps.
Friday, February 1, 2008 for incoming domestic two-year program students and all incoming international students in all programs. See

Monday, March 24, 2008 for incoming domestic Mid-Career students and returning domestic students in all programs. See

Returning international students do not submit a re-application. See Returning International Students for details on financing the second year.
In order to complete a financial assistance application, applicants must submit their application for admission. Within two business days of submitting their admission application, the applicant will receive an email with their Student ID and PIN. This will allow the applicant to access the financial assistance application system, MYFAID.
Students will receive an email from the Student Financial Services Office with their Student ID and PIN in early March which will allow them to access to the financial assistance application system, MYFAID.
If a student is applying only for loans, the deadlines above do not apply. Students may apply for loans anytime prior to the beginning of the academic year. Please allow two to three weeks for loans to be processed.
The deadline for the Zuckerman Fellowship and the Catherine B. Reynolds Fellowship is January 4, 2008, which is earlier than the deadlines indicated above.
