The Committee on General Scholarships (CGS) at Harvard University administers scholarship, fellowship, and loan funds that provide financial assistance to Harvard students. CGS offers restricted scholarships that may be awarded to students in any faculty in the university, including the Harvard Kennedy School (HKS). These scholarships are restricted to applicants who are residents of particular localities or descendants of specified families and the questions regarding eligibility are included in the online Application for Financial Assistance.
Admitted students applying for need-based consideration will be eligible for these scholarships. A list of opportunities is available on the Harvard University Committee on General Scholarships web site. However, applications are submitted directly to the HKS at the time of consideration for admission to the school.
Made possible through a generous gift from the George Family Foundation, 15 George Fellowships support students in the concurrent program offered through the Harvard Business School (HBS) and HKS with a $10,000 stipend.
Candidates for the George Family Foundation Fellowships are individuals who are currently enrolled in the concurrent program offered through HBS and HKS and are pursuing an MBA and either an MPP, MPA, or MPA/ID. Students at either school during the fellowship year are eligible for consideration.
There are ten George Family Foundation Fellowships awarded each academic year. Fellows in the program will be required to have entered their third year of the concurrent degree program when they begin their Fellowship year.
