International Student Budget

To help you in planning for the costs associated with your education, the cost of attendance for the 2013-2014 academic year is outlined below. The budget amounts listed below are the MINIMUM required based upon conservative estimates of living expenses and a moderate student lifestyle. These estimates do not include the cost of international travel or purchase of a personal computer.

Please note that tuition is expected to increase between 3-4% each year and living expenses between 1-3% each year.

Tuition and fees are subject to change without notice.

Dependent Costs for MPP, MPA2, MC/MPA*, and MPA/ID Programs

A dependent is defined as a spouse or child (21 years old or younger) of the student.

Maintenance:  
One Dependent: $8,100
Two Dependents: $14,400
Three Dependents: $18,900
For Each Additional Dependent: $4,500
Mandatory HUHS Student Health Fee (SHF) and Student Health Insurance Plan (SHIP) Fee**:  
One Dependent: $5,002
Two Dependents: $7,628
Three or more Dependents: $8,948


*Hospital insurance (SHIP) is required for all dependents in addition to the HUHS Student Health Fee (SHF). Health care costs in the United States are exorbitant and lack of insurance or inability to pay could prevent your spouse or child from receiving medical care.

 **Please note that dependents of MC/MPA students will require additional health care coverage for the month of July, if applicable of up to $438 per dependent. Please contat Harvard University Health Services for further details.
