Final Exams for Semester Long Courses (Bluebook Exams):
All blue book exams are scheduled by the Office of Teaching Support. Morning exams are held from 9am to 12pm, afternoon from 2pm to 5pm. Room assignments are posted two weeks before the start of the exam period, along with the alphabetical sectioning for exams that require more than one room.

Final Exams for Module Courses:

Final exams for Module Period 1 & 3 courses are generally held on the last day of class in the regularly scheduled room. Final exams for Module Period 2 & 4 courses follow the regular fall and spring semester course schedule above.

Take Home Exams:

Handing Them Out: These exams may be handed out during the final week of regular classes.

Due Date: Instructors may choose any due date within the relevant period in the chart above, but not before. Note that take homes in Module Period 1 or 3 may be due at any time up until the end of the first week of classes in Module Period 2 or 4. Take home exams for Module Period 2 and 4 follow the same schedule as take home exams for the regular fall and spring semesters.

Note: Final grades are due on May 25 for the spring 2007 term, and on May 23 for the spring 2008 term; faculty should bear this in mind when deciding on the due date for the take home exam.

Final Papers:

Assigning Them: Instructors should note in the syllabus that a final paper will be required for the course; detailed requirements may be provided later in the semester.

Due Date: Instructors may choose any due date within the relevant periods in the chart above, but not before. Note that  final papers in Module Period 1 or 3 may be due at any time up until the end of the first week of classes in Module Period 2 or  4. Final Papers for Module Period 2 and 4 follow the same schedule as final papers for the regular fall and spring semesters.

NB: In setting due dates for Take Home exams and Term Papers, instructors should take into account the date when the grade is due in the Registrar's Office.  They should also require submission at a time at least an hour before the staff assistant leaves for the day.
