Some jobs may become available as other CAs discover conflicts, or as new courses are added. But these are not many, so don’t count on getting into the job pool if you don’t return the Job Request Form at the start of May. In addition, if your job application is not submitted by the deadline in May your name will not be forwarded to the relevant faculty in a timely manner.
We consider the acceptance of the job a professional commitment. You are sent a draft of the semester’s schedule along with your job assignment so that you can be sure you will not have a course conflict. Once you have accepted a position we expect the assignment to be final. Because most eligible students have been assigned jobs by the time the fall term (or spring term) begins, it is extremely difficult to replace a student who reneges on a job at the last minute.
You are sent a draft of the semester schedule along with your assignment. You will be expected to figure out possible conflicts before accepting the job. Of course, if, when you return to campus, if there has been a change in the schedule causing a conflict with your course of study you will be released from the commitment to CA or TF. We will try to place you in another job, but cannot guarantee it.
No. You may not be a CA or TF for a course in which you are enrolled for credit.
If there is a drastic decline in enrollment we may have to remove the CA or TF position. In most cases we try to place you in another job, but cannot guarantee that we will be able to. In order to avoid this situation we are conservative in making assignments, or give “standby” assignments until we see what the enrollment will be.
No. You do not need to be registered at the KSG, but, with few exceptions, you MUST be a registered student at Harvard.
