This course builds upon the foundation of API-101 and develops microeconomic tools of analysis for policy problems, with an emphasis on benefit-cost analysis, cost-effectiveness analysis, distributional analysis, incentive effects of government policies, and economic analysis in international contexts. Areas of application include education, energy, environment, health, international trade, safety, taxation, transportation, and welfare. Section A assumes the ability to use calculus. Sections B, C, and D are identical, as each section is taught by all three faculty members.Prerequisite: API-101 or equivalent.
Students may receive credit for both API-102 and API-110 or API-112 only if API-102 is taken first.
