Description

This two week concentrated workshop will provide an opportunity for students to integrate the skills and knowledge they have acquired in the HKS curriculum and to apply them to a specific policy problem.  Students will be grouped into small teams to work, this year, on the problem of global hunger.  The teams will prepare policy analysis memos, briefing books and oral briefings, that are expected to be of professional quality, for relevant public officials.  Students will learn about the topic through readings, taped and in-person lectures, discussion sections and consultation with the faculty.  The exercise is meant to provide a realistic experience, a chance to learn and practice professional skills, and the opportunity to engage deeply with a crucially important public policy problem. This module is not open to MPP2 Students.  Students should have completed their distribution requirements before taking this course, or have equivalent background experience in the three areas.
