This is an advanced seminar on international economic analysis for students who are already familiar with graduate-level microeconomic theory. The objective is to develop expertise with economic models used for the analysis of international trade policy issues. Readings and discussions will focus on theoretical and empirical work relating to: trade and income distribution; trade and growth; industrial policy and development; and political economy of trade, the WTO, and the international trade regime. Students will be expected to make presentations and write a research paper. Prerequisites: Advanced microeconomic theory (at the level of API-109/110 or API-111/112) and econometrics.
