Examines the political determinants and economic consequences of policies in five domains: education, residential segregation, racial discrimination, incarceration, and immigration. Will look at effects on the distribution of economic opportunities economic outcomes and at policy feedbacks that affect future political possibilities and choices. Prerequisite: Normally limited to students who have taken HLE-511, but if space permits others with appropriate background may enroll with the permission of the instructor. Readings require at least two semesters of statistics or equivalent experience. Also offered by the Government Department as Government 2340b.
