The Founders did not envision parties, yet political parties grow inevitably from the way U.S. institutions are structured. How are parties structured around the world, and what are the consequences of systems such as proportional representation? What makes for "good representation" in party and interest group systems? How are parties funded and campaigns organized? This module blends theory and practice, with students exploring local parties in person. This module may be taken as a stand-alone or as a follow-up to DPI-332M (Interest Group Activism and Representation).
