An economic analysis of government policy in market economies. Examines efficiency and equity arguments for government intervention, alternative tax systems, and empirical evidence on taxes and government programs, particularly social insurance and taxation. Prerequisites: Social Analysis 10; Ec 1010a; API-101; or permission of instructor.
