Description

This seminar structures and directs students' efforts on a Policy Analysis Exercise (PAE) in the area of social (i.e., criminal justice, health, family, poverty) and urban policy. The students receive guidance from the seminar leader and a faculty advisor. The objective of the seminar is to help students select their topics, design their research, and develop skills in specific research methods. In addition to the support provided by faculty and peers in the seminar, students will be matched with individual advisors who are specialists in the area of their PAE and who are in the best position to give customized advice. The early part of the seminar is organized around topic/client selection, matching students with advisors, research design, and research methods. The latter part focuses on how to organize the materials gathered for the PAE. Students will give each other feedback and present their findings to the seminar.

Open to MPP2 students only.
