Purchasing Computer Equipment/Software
Faculty assistants' standard equipment is budgeted to be replaced every 3-years. Beth Tremblay maintains the inventory and purchases equipment; the cost may be split with the center or department you work with.
- The current standard computer system is:
- Lenovo M52 Minitower 2.8 GHz processor, 1GB memory, 80GB hard drive
- Windows XP operating system, HKS network capable, DVDR drive
- Lenovo ThinkVision L171 17" Flat panel display
- HP color DeskJet or cost sharing (up to $300) for laser printer
- The standard software package is installed on new KSG computers at no additional cost:
- Lotus Notes for e-mail, calendar, and other utilities.
- MacAfee Antivirus
- Internet Explorer
- Microsoft Office Professional (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access)
- Other software or equipment can be purchased with the faculty's FSA, research funds, or personal funds and installed on a HKS computer, but will not be supported by IS.
