Economic Growth: Related Links

In the area of economic growth I am making some modest contributions, but there are others who I think are on the right (same) track and doing what I think is even better work. I have been working and discussing economic growth with William Easterly and Ross Levine for a decade.

• Dani Rodrik particularly on growth shocks and his more recent work on institutions are the cutting edge.

• The work of Daron Acemoglu, James Robinson and Simon Johnson is also fundamental.

• In addition, there are several web sites with lots of information on economic growth research and data all that. The World Bank economic growth research web site has papers and data sets. The Global Development Network has a site with growth data sets.

• Jonathan Temple has great research of his own (at his web site) and in addition maintains a general web site on growth.

• Brad de Long maintains an interesting web site with growth related research.

• Xavier Sala-i-Martin's web site is entertaining and informative.

• Of interest to me (for obvious reasons) is a paper by a PhD out of Brown, Michal Jerzmanowski who has a paper entitled "Empirics of Hills, Plateaus, Mountains, and Plains: A Markov Switching Approach to Growth" that takes a "states and transitions" approach to growth and makes it empirical and is very interesting.
