Harvard University Site Licensing software SPSS Bundle License 2009 ($150) and Stata V10.0 (various flavors)

Stata Note that you should either use Stata SE (for large datasets) or Stata IC (Standard). Small Stata is too limited to handle most of the datasets. The website contains useful links, including to the Stata Listserve maintained by Harvard School of Public Health.

SPSS SPSS Statistics V17.0 includes information and a free downloadable trial version for 30 days.

SPSS Statistics Base Users Guide V17.0 The most useful and comprehensive guide to all the commands you will use for frequencies, crosstabs, charts, means, factords analysis and OLS regressions. Highly recommended. pp640

SPSS Statistics Command Syntax Reference Extensive reference guide to search for any command syntax but not to print out due to length. pp2342

SPSS Regression Shorter guide just for logistic regression techniques. pp67.

SPSS Advanced Statistics Mainly useful for multilevel modelling (HLM), GLM and Cox Regression techniques

Harvard-MIT Data Center IQSS Dataverse Network is the main source for quantitative survey datasets. You can search Dataverse for all datasets but you will need to try different terms and keywords to find exactly the right file. You will need to login to download datasets.
