The roles of the news media in the governance agenda

Watchdogs, agenda-setters and gate-keepers

The World Bank Communication for Governance and Accountability Program (CommGAP) and the Joan Shorenstein Center on the Press, Politics and Public Policy at KSG  co-sponsored a Harvard University Workshop on “The Role of the News Media in the Governance Agenda: Watch-dog, Agenda-Setter, and Gatekeepers.  The event was held from 9am Thursday 29th May until midday Saturday 31st May 2008 in the Penthouse at the John F. Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University.
